The FamilySafe Basic

The FamilySAFE Basic is a F5 tornado rated unit. It still has the famous 1/4" plate steel door with the same safety features as the original except that it uses 3/4" cold rolled pins to lock the door instead of keyed dead bolts. This unit has square corners instead of the large radius corners of the original unit. The inside of the basic unit still uses the 2"x 2" "NASCAR" type square tubing but is one gage lighter than in the original unit. The outer skin is made of 3/16" plate steel making it impossible for anything a tornado or any wind storm can throw to penetrate it.

The FamilySafe Original

The FamilySAFE Original is the strongest saferoom in the industry!  Full 1/4" plate steel broken at a large 2" radius in the corners for strength and safety.  3/8" thick 2"x 2" steel tubing is used for our "NASCAR" type safety cage running throughout the ceiling and walls.  According to our engineers this unit is capable of supporting over 100,000 lbs.stacked on top of it [about 25 midsized cars]. The patented SAFE-T DOOR uses 3 Sargent commercial grade class one stainless steel deadbolt locks to hold it secure during any wind storm but also acts as a vault for storage of valuables or firearms. The FamilySAFE Original is  bullet resistant to all normal handguns & shotguns.  This unit is equipped with a stainless steel sight glass [peep hole] for viewing the storms or intruders.
